The Wills Index comprises all names from the transcripts in the Wills Depository as well as names extracted from a variety of other sources. Where we do not hold a transcript the entry may give you further information or enable you to locate the relevant will.

All wills have a Sussex connection, even if the testator lived elsewhere. They frequently mention properties by name, also Manors, locations and vessels. Some wills include long lists of relatives which can be immensely useful.
